The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has completed the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study to extend SR 7 from SR 704 (Okeechobee Boulevard) to Northlake Boulevard. The purpose of this study was to develop several viable alternatives and evaluate each one for potential impacts with respect to social and environmental concerns. Public input played a vital role throughout the process.

The proposed improvements include the widening of SR 7 from two to four lanes from Okeechobee Boulevard to 60th Street and construction of a new four lane divided facility from 60th Street to Northlake Boulevard.  Bicycle lanes, sidewalks, and roundabouts are included as part of the improvements. This project is now in the design phase. The final PD&E Study documents are available on the Documents & Publications page
